Ma’aden Barrick Copper Company (MBCC) is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our team at the Jabal Sayid Mine.
This role plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency through short to long-term mine planning, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe, optimized extraction of ore.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and manage annual budgets, LOM plans, and rolling forecasts for underground mine operations.
- Oversee short and medium-term schedules aligned with production targets and geological data.
- Analyze production performance, identify deviations, and lead recovery planning.
- Support mining contractor coordination through design approvals, stope notes, and planning documentation.
- Ensure technical quality and statutory compliance in all mine planning activities.
- Contribute to the growth of a high-performing technical team through coaching and skills development.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across mining methods, cost control, and safety.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5–10 years of experience in underground hard rock mining, with a strong focus on planning.
- Proven expertise in:
- Mine budgeting and equipment cycle calculations
- Planning for long-hole open stoping and cut & fill methods
- Ventilation, paste fill, and reticulation systems
- DESWIK mine planning software (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with reporting codes such as JORC, NI 43-101, and business planning processes.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and backfill engineering.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster collaboration across departments.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
