Role Summary:
As Senior Logistics Coordinator, Road Freight Operations you will manage and coordinate complex road freight logistics operations within major infrastructure and projects. This role requires advanced operational execution, cross-functional coordination, carrier management, and leadership support. You will play a critical role in optimizing logistics flows, supporting performance KPIs, and maintaining operational excellence in a high-pressure, large-scale logistics environment by ensuring safety compliance, managing resources, and supporting the sustainable goals of DSV NEOM's smart logistics ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day inbound and outbound freight operations ensuring timely execution, compliance with safety, and transport regulations.
- Manage and monitor freight bookings, route planning, documentation, and customs clearance processes across vendors and carriers.
- Coordinate across internal teams and external vendors to ensure real-time communication and alignment on project logistics.
- Track shipments, update milestones, and provide proactive updates to stakeholders, ensuring service-level adherence and issue escalation.
- Analyze and verify booking information, optimize load planning, and confirm route and cost efficiency.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and client platforms to maintain shipment visibility and operational accuracy.
- Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), clients, and internal stakeholders to align on operational performance and priorities.
Team Support & Training
- Support and coach junior logistics coordinators and dispatchers; serve as the bridge between coordinators and supervisory leadership.
- Act as backup or point of escalation in absence of supervisor.
- Provide informal leadership by mentoring team members and promoting best practices.
Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain up-to-date shipment documentation, electronic records, and system milestones.
- Prepare and analyze logistics performance reports and share insights with supervisors and managers.
- Proactively identify process inefficiencies and recommend and implement improvements.
- Support internal ISO, quality, safety, and sustainability initiatives in daily operations.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in logistics/transport operations with increasing responsibility.
- Hands-on experience in managing construction logistics, third party logistics, road transport movements, fleet, freight operations, logistics coordination, and transport scheduling.
- In-depth understanding of transportation regulations, customs clearance, safety standards, and industry best practices in Saudi Arabia
- Project or construction logistics experience an asset.
- Certification in transport/logistics or relevant safety certifications (e.g., ADR, CPC) is a plus.
Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of freight routing, shipment planning, and logistics coordination.
- Proficient in transportation management software (TMS), GPS tracking, PC Miler, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to high-paced environments and shifting project demands
- Regular working hours apply for this position, at times, working beyond these hours may be required by business needs.
- Physically able to work at a computer for prolonged periods; site visits may be required occasionally.
