Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Health and Safety Manager to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the planning and initial site set-up and production of the HSSE plans, integrated with the wider engineering and logistics plans to give a city-wide approach.
Develop standard operating procedures for HSSE of the program and ensure that QIP follow them so there is operational consistency across the program.
Coordinate with other delivery partners (Jacobs and Mace), as well as QIC and all existing contractors, and future planned procurement of major contractors.
Plan and implement HSSE strategies and approaches in accordance with the completed and approved HSSE plan.
Lead the implementation and application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts, ensuring compliance and consistency across the delivery teams.
Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas, leading in the fields of HSSE.
Lead on unusually complex HSSE problems and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with site and engineering leads.
Facilitate partnerships with key stakeholders/organizations impacted by the program.
Assign work to employees, oversees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.
Interview and select personnel for assignment as required.
Maintain clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.
Prepare the needed reports.
Ensure adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Skills and Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of domestic and international safety standards for assigned region
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written skills
- Ability to train all levels of the organization in key company safety training programs
- Ability to supervise and manage safety professionals located throughout the organization domestically and internationally.
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline with minimum 15 years’ experience in construction projects, specifically health, safety, security and environment.
- Advantageous to have experience in Saudi Arabia.
- OSHA Certified is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.
Education and Typical Experience
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or closely related field
- 15+ years of related work experience in the field of safety and health and
- Supervisory experience with managing safety professionals on multiple project locations
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred
