JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Senior Geospatial Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing geospatial databases to ensure data integrity and security. The purpose of this role is to manage data identification, acquisition, management, and maintenance to ensure accurate, consistent, and efficient collection, analysis, and dissemination of geospatial data. The Individual should be able to work well unsupervised and will be able to plan and organise the team’s activities.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develops and delivers training programs on geospatial tools and technologies.
- Ensures that users have the necessary knowledge and skills to operate geospatial tools and technologies effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborates with other geospatial specialists to develop training materials.
- Applies analytical and creative skills to develop optimal training programs.
- Monitors and evaluates training effectiveness to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of geospatial training platforms and tools.
- Provides support to the GDMS team, prepares the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training and reports related to his duties.
- Leading the team necessary for its tasks as directed by the Line manager.
- Take a pro-active approach to planning and organising across multiple areas and an ability to communicate effectively across all RSAF Directorates, Depots, Operating Bases and Contractors.
- Develop a sound understanding of the Customer’s requirements and priorities and be able to make informed decisions based on this understanding.
- Manage financial issues on behalf of the RSAF fleet comprising of different aircraft variants, in several configurations, across a widely dispersed location, under stringent funding constraints.
Essential
- Master’s degree in Geospatial Information, or a related field.
- ESRI ArcGlS Enterprise Administration Professional Certification, ESRl Enterprise Geodata Management Professional Certification, or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in geospatial database management or administration roles.
- Experience working with GIS server software, preferably ESR, ArcGtS and Open Source.
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Line.
