Job Purpose
Lead Engineer, Asset Integrity– is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the integrity management framework for static mechanical assets and pipeline systems. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies that ensure long-term reliability and safety of equipment through risk-based approaches, lifecycle analysis, and robust integrity management programs. The position will act as asset integrity SME and will drive continuous improvement in inspection planning and integrity assessment to improve overall static equipment program of his assigned area.
Key AccountabilitiesStrategic Leadership & Management
• Develop and maintain the asset integrity strategy for static equipment and pipelines, aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and inspection teams to ensure alignment of asset integrity objectives with site priorities.
Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Program Oversight
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodology.
• Provide technical guidance and assurance for RBI assessments, corrosion studies, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
Technical Governance & Subject Matter Expertise
• Provide expertise on asset integrity engineering standards, procedures, and technical practices for static equipment and pipelines.
• Develop integrity assessments, corrosion management strategies, and degradation evaluations to resolve plant chronic issues.
Asset Integrity Program Development
• Develop an integrity management framework that supports regulatory compliance, company standards, and international best practices.
• Prepare initiatives for data quality improvement, digitalization of integrity programs, and implementation of integrity analytics tools.
• Lead failure investigations related to static equipment and pipelines and develop mitigation actions
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
• Report asset integrity KPIs, risk levels, and strategic priorities to Asset Integrity Manager.
• Lead integrity function in cross-functional reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
• Act as liaison with regulatory bodies and third-party engineering firms as needed for audits, reviews, or consultations
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree or relevant certifications in asset integrity, reliability, or corrosion engineering is a plus.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in asset integrity, mechanical engineering, or reliability roles in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
Proven experience in managing integrity programs for static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers) and pipelines.
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing chronic issues with cross-functional teams.
High-Performance Competencies & Skills:
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards, RBI methodologies (e.g., API 580/581, API 570/510/653, ASME, TEMA), corrosion mechanisms, and degradation analysis.
- Familiarity with asset integrity management systems (e.g., AIMS, Meridium, SAP PM).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical data into strategic decisions.
