Position: Safety Officer
Company Overview: We are a leading trading company specializing in building materials, hardware items, construction items, and machine tools, with shops and warehouses across KSA, Bahrain, UAE, and Oman. Our operations also include industrial manufacturing units in KSA and UAE.
Position Overview: The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across all our locations by implementing and maintaining safety standards and protocols. This role involves overseeing safety compliance, conducting regular inspections, and fostering a culture of safety among employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards.
- Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records of safety-related activities and prepare reports for management review.
- Act as a liaison with government agencies and regulatory bodies regarding safety matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer in a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and risk management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work across multiple locations and manage diverse teams.
