Job Summary:
The QC Supervisor will oversee quality inspection processes for both wood and steel product lines. The role includes supervising QC inspectors, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and working closely with production to identify and resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of the QC team across both wood and steel departments.
- Inspect raw materials (wood, metal sheets, fasteners, etc.) for quality and compliance.
- Monitor and audit in-process and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Ensure products conform to structural, visual, and dimensional standards.
- Maintain and update documentation for inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve defects and implement process improvements.
- Train QC staff on testing procedures, safety standards, and use of inspection tools.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of measuring and testing equipment (e.g., micrometers, gauges, hardness testers).
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Assist in internal and third-party audits (e.g., ISO 9001, customer audits).
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of QC experience in manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards related to wood and steel materials (e.g., warping, surface defects, weld quality, tolerances).
- Familiarity with fabrication processes such as welding, cutting, assembly, and finishing.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with QMS software is a plus.
