- Source and purchase raw materials from approved suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries.
- Evaluate and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and audits.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed.
- Coordinate with inventory and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor material usage and forecast future requirements.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations in raw materials.
- Work with finance to manage procurement budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of raw material markets (especially metals)
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) are a plus
Experience:
- 3–6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors
- Experience in raw materials or metals purchasing is highly desirable
