Job Description:
Parsons are looking for an amazingly talented Project Engineer to join our team on King Salman International Airport (KSIA)!
What You'll Be Doing:
Project Execution and Coordination:
Oversee and coordinate daily construction activities across runways, taxiways, aprons, and related utilities to ensure timely and compliant execution.
Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure work aligns with approved plans.
Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for accuracy and compliance before implementation.
Ensure integration of civil works with MEP, lighting, and communication systems associated with airfield infrastructure.
Technical Review and Field Engineering:
Provide technical support for field execution by interpreting design documents and addressing construction queries (RFIs).
Coordinate with design consultants to implement approved modifications or design clarifications.
Verify that construction is carried out in accordance with ICAO/FAA standards and client specifications.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure quality benchmarks are met across asphalt, concrete, and utility installations.
Participate in inspections, approve inspection requests, and support the testing and commissioning of completed sections.
Monitor and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
Planning and Progress Monitoring:
Assist the Project Manager in preparing work schedules, look-ahead plans, and resource allocations for ongoing activities.
Track project milestones, identify risks or delays, and propose corrective measures to keep the project on schedule.
Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce allocation to maintain continuous site productivity.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
Liaise with consultants, contractors, and client representatives to communicate project updates, technical decisions, and interface issues.
Attend regular site meetings and interface coordination sessions to align construction activities with the overall project schedule.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, highlighting key issues, milestones, and risk areas.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure that all activities comply with project-specific HSE policies and aviation safety protocols.
Promote a culture of safety among all team members, workers, and subcontractors.
Identify and report hazards, support incident investigations, and follow up on implementation of corrective measures.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure and civil construction, with at least 5 years on airport/airfield projects.
Proven involvement in managing construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage, and related airside facilities.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of construction techniques, pavement systems, and material specifications for airfield environments.
Familiarity with international standards and codes applicable to airports (e.g., ICAO, FAA, GACA).
Proficient in project documentation, field coordination, and interface resolution.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and project tracking tools (Primavera/MS Project).
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI) is an advantage.
Previous experience working with airport authorities or regulatory bodies.
Knowledge of airport operational constraints and airside safety protocols.
Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
Familiarity with BIM processes, QA/QC documentation, and commissioning procedures for airfield systems.
