Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to join our team and lead the successful execution of large-scale, complex projects. In this role, you will oversee all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a key leadership position that requires strategic planning, operational excellence, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing:
Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other required documents.
Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of their qualifications and strengths.
Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
Collaborate with Business Development to market and secure additional work with the client.
Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Follow up on instructions and commitments associated with the project to ensure timely execution.
Develop and distribute a project summary to all members of the project team for reference.
Provide input on performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
Mobilize company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Discuss the qualifications required of key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managers.
Collaborate with office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
Devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work; advise the client and company management of any such changes.
Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement, payroll operations, and other site-specific activities.
Maintain current and timely change orders to ensure accurate project documentation.
Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes.
Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activity, including significant milestones and any conditions that could affect project cost or schedule.
Act as the company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during program execution.
Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
What’s Required for the Role:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical/business field.
20+ years of related work experience, including significant project management or construction management assignments on large-scale, complex projects.
Broad general technical and business background with previous experience in operations management of personnel and facilities.
Proven ability to meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements.
Advanced leadership skills with the ability to perform effectively in a management capacity.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Thorough knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and standards.
Advanced knowledge of current technology and its effective application to project management.
