Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced temporary (9 months to 1 Year) freelance Power Generation Consultant to support our client in Riyadh in power generation operations, optimization strategies, and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of our generation assets, including conventional thermal plants, combined-cycle facilities, and renewable energy integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultancy in power generation technologies, operations, and performance improvement.
- Conduct technical assessments and recommend optimization strategies for existing generation assets.
- Support long-term planning for capacity expansion, fuel diversification, and emissions reduction.
- Lead or support transformation projects related to digitalization, predictive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
- Evaluate and recommend best practices in generation technology, plant upgrades, and retrofit opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and planning teams to implement advanced solutions.
- Support training, knowledge transfer, and capability building of local technical staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, environmental policies, and corporate governance.
- Provide expert insight into the integration of renewable energy sources with conventional generation systems.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in power generation, with at least 5 years in a consulting or leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of combined-cycle generation technologies.
- Proven experience with generation performance analysis, optimization, and benchmarking.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability goals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in or with utility companies in the Middle East is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills are a plus.
