Role: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - JTAC/AOC/FAC Operations
Contract Objective: To support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in developing a comprehensive Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) program.
SME's Core Responsibilities:
Current State Assessment ("As Is"):
Travel within KSA to multiple military cities where training devices are located.
Assess existing TADSS capabilities related to JTAC, AOC, and FAC operations.
Analyze current training methodologies and programs for these roles within KSA.
Future State Definition ("To Be"):
Identify missing TADSS capabilities required for a valid and robust JTAC, AOC, and FAC training program.
Determine necessary TADSS to implement or enhance training for directing military aircraft in close air support and other offensive air operations.
GAP Analysis & Recommendations:
Conduct a thorough GAP analysis between the "as is" and "to be" states of KSA's TADSS program for JTAC/AOC/FAC.
Develop and provide detailed recommendations for augmenting or expanding existing training programs and TADSS infrastructure. This will include recommendations for new devices, upgrades, and improved training methodologies.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with a team of U.S. and/or UK military personnel who are familiar with KSA and the process of developing such training products.
Contribute to the development of training program products in a team environment once site visits are completed.
Required Functional Expertise and Experience:
JTAC Expertise: In-depth knowledge and practical experience as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC).
Recency of Experience: JTAC experience preferably within the last 10 years to ensure current relevance of knowledge.
AOC & FAC Understanding: Strong understanding and ability to speak to Air Operations Center (AOC) and Forward Air Controller (FAC) operations. This includes directing military aircraft for close air support and other offensive air operations.
Training and Assessment Acumen: Proven ability to assess and analyze training requirements and the effectiveness of TADSS devices.
Analytical Skills: Capability to develop and make informed recommendations based on assessments and analysis.
Background (Preferred): Individuals with a Special Operations (Special Ops) background are typically most familiar with this type of expertise.
Logistical Requirements:
Travel: Significant travel within KSA to various military cities is required.
Work Environment: Combination of independent assessment during site visits and collaborative team-based product development.
