Our client:
The world’s largest Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle facility and large–scale investment in Gasification & associated utilities/facilities. The 4 GW Combined Cycle Power Generation Plant consists of Syngas/ULSD fired Gas Turbines, HRSGs, Steam Turbines, Water Cooled Condenser, Process Steam and Water Systems, including the related equipment, piping and process valves and Sea Water Condenser Cooling system.
Reports To: Training Specialist Lead Main Purpose of the Position: Design, deliver & evaluate training programs that enhance employee skills, ensure compliance with safety and industry standards and support continuous improvement in operational efficiency and workforce development.
Qualifications And Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, process), Industrial/Technical Education, Human Resources (training & development focus), or Occupational Safety/Environmental Science.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s in Training and Development, Instructional Design, or Organizational Development) can be advantageous
- 3 to 5 years work experience in plant operations, technical roles, or similar high-risk industries such as gasification, power generation, oil and gas, or chemical plants.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in training, instructional design, or learning and development role within a technical or industrial environment.
- Experience in a refinery plant and/or the petrochemical industry.
- Understanding of gasification and power production systems.
- Knowledge of operational safety protocols and emergency response measures.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting plant operations and training content
- Strong grasp of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Expertise in competency frameworks and learning management systems (LMS).
- Written and verbal communication, Interpersonal, Problem solving, Training & facilitation skills
- English (fluent), Arabic (beneficial) & MS Office
Relevant certifications:
Training and Development Certifications:
- Train-the-Trainer certifications (e.g., ATD, CIPD, or similar)
- Certifications in Instructional Design or Adult Learning (e.g., Certified Professional in Training Management - CPTM)
Technical Certifications:
- Industry-specific certifications in process operations or gasification technology
- Certifications in process control systems (e.g., SCADA, DCS)
Safety Certifications:
- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
- HAZMAT or similar certifications related to high-hazard industries
Project Management:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certifications to manage training initiatives effectively.
- Specialized certifications in gasification, power production, or plant operations.
