Role
We have a fantastic opportunity in our Operations Team based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role supports the Plant Head in ensuring maximum equipment and utility availability to meet delivery deadlines, while optimizing maintenance costs and meeting both operational and EHS targets, as well as drive continuous improvement, support OPEX initiatives, and ensure adherence to safety and statutory regulations while promoting a culture of collaboration, performance, and accountability.
Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and timely utility support to achieve on-time delivery.
- Meet maintenance and cost targets as per budget across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation domains.
- Drive preventive and breakdown maintenance of all plant machinery, equipment, forklifts, utilities (compressors, DG sets, VFDs, transformers), and support systems.
- Monitor, plan, and procure spares for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation needs.
- Lead utility maintenance including compressor operations and water/electricity management.
- Oversee general facility maintenance (civil, carpentry, plumbing, AC, IT hardware, etc.).
- Support implementation and sustainability of OPEX initiatives, including 5S, KAIZEN, and I-Cube programs.
- Manage departmental budgeting, invoicing, inventory control, and documentation (KPIs, breakdown reports, I-Cube reports).
- Maintain ISO certifications and documentation compliance.
- Train maintenance staff and ensure timely completion of assigned training.
- Coordinate with commercial teams for spares procurement and vendor follow-ups.
EHS Management
- Implement and maintain the Group EHS Management System, protocols, and standards.
- Lead internal and external EHS audits, inspections, and safety reviews (including BBS visits).
- Conduct and support HIRA, JSA, aspect-impact analysis, and emergency plan reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS culture and awareness through training and communication.
- Ensure effective functioning of STP/ETP systems and compliance with environmental standards.
- Maintain liaisons with government and statutory bodies; manage consents, permits, and regulatory returns.
- Ensure EHS compliance across all plant and colony operations, including audit finding closures.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Support Plant Head instructions and align departmental actions accordingly.
- Provide cross-functional support, especially during projects and escalations.
- Lead team development, empowerment, and optimization of manpower deployment.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and challenge the status quo to improve performance.
Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech (Full-time) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (Mandatory)
- Certification in Energy Auditing and/or EHS (Preferred)
- Proven experience in plant maintenance (mechanical, electrical, utilities, instrumentation)
- Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance systems
- Working knowledge of EHS standards, compliance processes, and IMS (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, spares planning, and vendor coordination
- Experience in implementing and sustaining OPEX, 5S, and continuous improvement programs
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset
- Ability to manage compliance, documentation, and liaise with external authorities
