The Inspector II, Quality – Material is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of materials delivered to the site or used in project execution. The role ensures compliance with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements. The inspector plays a key part in preventing the use of non-conforming materials in construction or fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet approved specifications and relevant standards.
Verify material certificates (e.g., Mill Test Certificates), supplier documents, and compliance with client and project requirements.
Conduct material sampling, testing coordination, and third-party laboratory verification where required.
Monitor proper storage, handling, and preservation of materials on-site.
Report any non-conforming materials and issue Material NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) as needed.
Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, construction, and QA/QC teams for material inspections and clearances.
Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation for audit and traceability.
Assist in vendor audits and material source approvals as per project requirements.
Support quality engineers in preparing Material Approval Requests (MARs) and maintaining the material submittal log.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).Experience: 3–5 years of experience in quality/material inspection roles, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Knowledge:
Familiar with ASTM, ISO, BS, and other international material standards.
Understanding of material testing procedures, specifications, and certification formats.
Awareness of quality control processes in material procurement and usage.
