Job Description
Responsible for performing Quantity and Quality inspection or Verification of various products and goods in accordance with company standards, legal and client requirements and API/IP/ASTM STANDARDS.
- Operating to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Code of Integrity.
- To perform the duties assigned, with full compliance of SGS Safety guidelines, applicable local and Intl safety standards and SGS Standard Operating procedure, in conjunction with applicable international standards.
- Ensures all the necessary documents, PPE, equipment, and / or other requirements needed to perform the job are complete and prepared before proceeding to the work site.
- Prepare and submit duly signed inspection report in SGS approved formats with appropriate raw data. Also verify other inspector field reports / findings where necessary.
- Coordinates with Operations supervisor on schedules and other information pertinent to the job.
- Conducts inspection or verification work according to company standard, procedures and client requirements or agreed job scope and specifications.
- Provides feedback and updates on the status or progress of the job to his immediate superior on a regular basis.
- Prepares and submits complete and accurate inspection documents / reports including properly labelled / sealed samples and raw data of inspections/ witnessing performed.
- Assists in training newly hired / Trainee inspectors on inspection related works.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of departmental goal or for his personal or professional training, education or development as programmed by his immediate superior.
- Signs shipping (Terminal / Vessel) documents as specified by immediate superior.
- Provides inputs or feedback to immediate superior on the training performance of assigned newly hired or Trainee inspector.
- Report instances of non-conformances to the appropriate line management.
- Intervene when an unsafe act or condition is observed.
- Ensures compliance to the Group and national policies including but not limited to the maintenance of the Quality Management System.
- Housekeeping of SGS warehouse, Sample container / storage and Port lab and ensure to follow safety procedures.
- Able to conduct risk assessments.
- Shall comply with SGS Group and local legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Field experience & Good knowledge in OGC inspection activities as per the standard procedure.
- Good knowledge on computer skills.
- Graduation with minimum 2 year of experience, Or School certificate with minimum 3 year experience and IFIA certification – Mandatory.
