Job Summary:
The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promoting a safe workplace culture. The role involves monitoring operations to minimize risks, conducting inspections, delivering training, and ensuring all personnel adhere to the company’s safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the company’s HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments; report findings and corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Deliver HSE induction and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- Maintain safety records, including incident logs, training registers, and audit reports.
- Promote HSE awareness through campaigns, tool-box talks, and safety meetings.
- Coordinate with relevant departments and external bodies for audits and inspections.
- Support emergency response planning and drills.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent (mandatory).
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant safety standards.
- Strong understanding of risk management and safety practices.
- Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or other relevant HSE training.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and HSE software systems.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabian labor laws and HSE regulations (if applicable).
