Responsibilities
- The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor works in a highly challenging yet equally rewarding environment, playing a key role in generating aircraft for the RSAF customer. The role is therefore extremely high profile and involves interfacing with other departments and organisation such as SMSCMC, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, MODSAP etc.
- Work involves a balance between leading the resolution of complex Engineering issues and responsibility for team management including oversight of applicable rules and regulations. Activities as a consequence vary on a day to day basis
- Responsible for the rectification of Fast Jet aircraft ensuring that aircraft are available to deliver the organisations commitments through the agreed Customer KPIs.
- First Stage/Mandatory and Independent certification of completed tasks carried out by the Maintenance Team Technicians when required to do so, including Red-X clearance.
- Liaise with the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors with the aircraft maintenance schedule.
- Ensures work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.
- Reporting to the On Aircraft Support Superintendent, the Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Fast Jet Aircraft On-Aircraft Maintenance, training and manpower.
- Ensures strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.
- Planning shift patterns, ensuring manpower is utilised effectively.
- Managing sickness and absence in accordance with local policy.
- Managing spare part requirements using IMS and Gold ESP logistics system.
- Act as continuous improvement leader.
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,
- Have at least 7 years post qualification practical maintenance experience OR 3 years on Fast Jet Aircraft airframe system testing
- Holds 2nd signature
- Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
Desirable:
- Understand and use Maintenance GOLD system and IMS.
- Be fully conversant with the interpretation of technical diagrams and documentation
- Demonstrate the ability to provide rapid and accurate fault diagnosis and rectification
- Must be familiar with the requirements of the Pt. 145 regulations and an understanding of the Pt M organisation.
- Able to tow aircraft and supervise aircraft tow team.
