Job Description
- Develops and implements a comprehensive engineering strategy for the entire Faena District, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and sustainability initiatives.
- Creates, manages, and presents the annual capital budget for the Faena District, outlining priorities for capital improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and major equipment replacements.
- Provides detailed financial projections and ROI analysis for proposed capital projects.
- Ensures alignment of the capital budget with the district’s strategic objectives and long-term sustainability goals.
- Collaborates with senior leadership and department heads to prioritize and execute capital improvement projects and preventative maintenance plans.
- Leads the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Oversees daily engineering and maintenance operations for all district properties, ensuring all systems, equipment, and facilities operate at peak performance.
- Establishes and enforces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Conducts regular inspections of all properties to ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and Forbes 5-star requirements.
- Recruits, trains, and develops a high-performing engineering team, including managers, technicians, and contractors.
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching to enhance team performance and professional growth.
- Develops and maintains a strong succession plan to ensure continuity of expertise.
- Prepares and manages the engineering department’s annual budget, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.
- Analyzes financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and oversees procurement processes for engineering supplies and services.
- Champions energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, implementing technologies and practices that reduce environmental impact.
- Continuously evaluates and recommends innovative solutions to enhance building performance and guest satisfaction.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety, fire safety, and environmental standards.
- Develops and implements emergency preparedness and response plans for the district.
- Ensures the engineering team is trained and certified in applicable safety procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
Minimum of 10 years in engineering or facilities management, with at least 2 to 5 years a Chief Engineer role overseeing luxury properties or mixed-use developments.
Experience managing engineering operations in a Forbes 5-star environment strongly preferred.
Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building management systems.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Proficiency in managing large-scale capital improvement projects.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management software.
Fluency in English required;
