Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Assistant Construction Manager to join our dynamic team on the prestigious Qiddiya Project in Riyadh. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to one of the world's most significant entertainment and tourism destinations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and supporting the construction management of various packages within the Qiddiya master plan, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Coordination:
Assist the Construction Manager in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities for assigned project packages.
Support the development and implementation of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
Coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project progression.
Facilitate communication and information flow between various project teams and disciplines.
Participate in regular project meetings, documenting discussions, action items, and progress.
Site Management & Supervision:
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality of work, and adherence to design specifications and safety regulations.
Identify potential issues, delays, or deviations from the plan and proactively work with the team to propose and implement corrective actions.
Oversee the performance of contractors and ensure their compliance with contractual agreements, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Assist in resolving on-site technical and logistical challenges.
Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
Contract & Commercial Management:
Assist in managing contract administration processes, including review of payment applications, change orders, and claims.
Support the review and approval of submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and other project documentation.
Track and report on project expenditures against budget, providing forecasts and variance analysis.
Quality Assurance & Control:
Implement and maintain robust quality control programs to ensure that all work meets project specifications and international standards.
Participate in quality audits and inspections, identifying non-conformances and tracking their resolution.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.
Provide data and insights for project performance analysis and executive dashboards.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers, project managers, and technical specialists.
Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Potentially provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in construction management roles, with a strong background in large-scale infrastructure, entertainment, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
Proven experience working on mega-projects, preferably in the Middle East region.
Demonstrated knowledge of all phases of construction, from planning and design through procurement, execution, and handover.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, safety regulations, and quality assurance principles.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a significant advantage.
