Job Purpose
Capable of performing all day-to-day routine operation in the specific area of operation, in a flexible manner across multiple parts of the process to ensure uninterrupted production and safe operation of the plant. Has the experience and capabilities to train Field Operators 2’s in the standard operating and safety procedures, plant processes, equipment, troubleshooting and start-up / shut-down procedures.
Typically involves overseeing daily operations within a facility, ensuring efficient and safe execution of processes, and supervising subordinate staff. This role often includes planning, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance to maintain operational standards.
Key AccountabilitiesExecute operations on a specific production process, with flexibility to work across multiple parts of the process, to ensure uninterrupted production and safe operation of the plant
Carry out checks for operation of the equipment to activate maintenance in order to keep the plant running smoothly.
Identify problems between processes, resolve operating problems and report any abnormalities and problems to the Shift Supervisor.
Take all actions for the safe shutdown and start up in specific areas of the plant in line with standard operating procedures.
Utilize root-cause analysis to address recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to implement innovative solutions.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent an associate's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, industrial technology) is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
3 to 5 years operational experience in the fertilizer or chemical industry, preferably with exposure in specified plants e.g. Phosphoric or Sulphuric Plants etc.
Experience in a similar operational role within the industry.
