Job Purpose:
The Level 3 Senior Network & Wireless Ops Engineer oversees the stability and security of LAN/SD-WAN/ACI and wireless networks, ensuring seamless integration, performance, and compliance. This role handles escalated incidents, automation, and cross-team collaboration.
responsible for overseeing the stability, performance, and optimization of the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. The role requires extensive hands-on experience in routing and switching technologies across LAN, SD-WAN, Internet, DMZ, B2B, and ACI Data Center environments. This engineer is expected to handle complex incidents, lead root cause analysis, and guide architectural decisions.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Monitor WLCs, AP health, and BYOD services via Cisco Prime/Aruba AirWave.
Optimize QoS for wireless UC (Teams/Zoom).
Network Infrastructure Oversight: Manage and optimize routing, switching, and interconnectivity across LAN, WAN, DMZ, B2B, and cloud environments. Ensure availability, performance, and security of network services supporting critical business applications.
Advanced Troubleshooting: resolve complex technical issues spanning Layer 1–4. Lead root cause analysis and long-term corrective action planning.
Design & Implementation: Participate in network design reviews and implement enterprise-grade network infrastructure (ACI, SD-WAN, etc.). Evaluate and integrate new networking technologies to improve resilience and performance.
Network Change Management: Execute and oversee network configuration changes, migrations, and upgrades in compliance with change control policies. Ensure minimal downtime and risk to production systems.
Monitoring & Optimization: Proactively monitor network performance using tools like SNMP, NetFlow, and telemetry. Analyze trends and implement tuning strategies to enhance throughput and reduce latency.
Documentation & Standards: Maintain up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures. Ensure network practices align with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams on end-to-end service delivery. Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to Level 2 engineers and junior staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
Expert-level knowledge in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), switching (VLANs, STP, VTP), and IP addressing.
Expert-level in Cisco ACI/SD-WAN, WLCs, NAC, SIEM
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, including ACI Data Center and SD-WAN platforms.
Proficient in DMZ, B2B, and internet gateway configuration and operations.
Solid understanding of network segmentation, redundancy, and HA principles.
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills, especially under high-pressure situations.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
