Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documentation for various construction projects.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify all elements of work and associated costs.
- Monitor project costs and implement effective cost control measures to ensure financial targets are met.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to provide cost advice and financial assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct measurements and valuations for work completed and prepare payment applications for contractors.
- Assist in the negotiation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market rates, and changes affecting the construction sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
- Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIQS) is preferred.
