WSP Earth and Environment team is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Environmental Supervision with experience in Environmental Supervision, Environmental Audits, and Environmental Management Systems services to join our growing Earth and Environment Team. The role is Project-based, you will be based on-site in a remote area in KSA.
- Undertake environmental audits and inspections and provide support and guidance to contractors on site to achieve compliance against the Project's environmental requirements
- Prepare environmental monitoring and audit reports
- Regularly review and update the environmental management system and propose corrective actions as needed
- Oversee the implementation of environmental management systems
- Review and approve Construction and Social Environmental Management Plans (CESMPs), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, and other environmental studies as needed
- Undertake environmental reconnaissance surveys and pre-construction site assessments
- Review weekly and monthly environmental reports from the contractors
- Report environmental incidents on site, undertake necessary investigation and reporting, and follow up on corrective actions and plans
- Develop and implement a project-specific communication strategy
- Implement environmental awareness campaigns and conduct environmental training as necessary
- Review CVs and conduct interviews to provide feedback/approval for environment/sustainability positions on the Project
- BSc and MSc degree qualified in a relevant environmental or engineering discipline.
- 15+ years’ experience working in environmental supervision
- Extensive experience working with environmental management systems, preferably ISO 14001 certified
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines and a flexible mindset to working.
- Experience in providing technical alternatives and solutions to technical clarifications and solutions to the clients.
- Significant proofing, editing and report collation experience.
- Excellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organisational skills.
- Robust project management, time management and client management skills.
- Collaborative mindset and outcome driven working method.
