Key Activities
Audit the calculations, transactions, invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
Conduct invoices to be completed for payment
Review invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval
Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures.
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Lead the vendors payment by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying VAT id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Knowledge and Experience
4 years of experience as a payable accountant.
Knowledge of accounting regulations and practices.
Education and Certifications
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent is required.
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
