Position Summary:
The Family Medicine Physician plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care within home healthcare settings, with a key focus on chronic disease management, continuity of care, and optimizing treatment adherence. This position also supports pharmaceutical Patient Support Programs (PSPs), ensuring clinical oversight, safety monitoring, and improved therapeutic outcomes for enrolled patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care in Home Healthcare:
- Conduct home visits to assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions.
- Develop and manage personalized care plans in coordination with home healthcare teams (nursing, physiotherapy, nutrition, etc.).
- Monitor patient progress, ensure medication compliance, and adjust treatment as needed.
- Provide palliative and end-of-life care where appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers on disease management and preventive care.
2. Patient Support Program (PSP) Involvement:
- Provide clinical oversight and medical consultation for patients enrolled in pharmaceutical-sponsored PSPs.
- Evaluate treatment eligibility, safety parameters, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Participate in the onboarding process of patients receiving specialty drugs or complex therapies at home.
- Coordinate with PSP coordinators, case managers, and pharmaceutical partners to ensure seamless support services.
- Monitor and report adverse events and therapy-related complications in compliance with regulatory and pharmacovigilance standards.
3. Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, case managers, and specialists to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including patients’ families, to ensure satisfaction and transparency.
4. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Adhere to national and international healthcare regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards.
- Support audits and quality improvement initiatives related to home care and PSP services.
- Participate in continuing education and training to maintain board certification and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) with certification in Family Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in Saudi Arabia.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably including home healthcare and/or PSPs.
- Strong knowledge of chronic disease management, geriatrics, palliative care, and pharmacotherapy.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry compliance, pharmacovigilance, and patient-centered care models.
