Job Description and Requirements
Job Summary:
Review and coordinate environmental sampling, monitoring and testing activities and ensure they are performed according to required standard methods and customer requirements. Prepare test reports and projects progress reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement Department’s policies, goals, objectives, and procedures and support in their development as needed.
- Support Senior Engineer/Department Manager in the implementation of operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans.
- Plan and coordinate the field and laboratory teams for mobilization and performance of environmental site assessments and tests (noise, stack, and air quality monitoring, water and soil testing, etc).
- Evaluate environmental impact assessment projects and conduct environmental site assessment.
- Ensure that all tests are carried out in accordance with relevant standard test methods and as per contractually agreed customers’ requirements.
- Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications for entry and manipulation of data related to environmental baseline/impact studies.
- Review data, prepare and check test reports prior to their submission for approval by the Senior Environmental/Chemical Engineer or Department Manager.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications for Green buildings, project specifications, national and international standards and specifications.
- Supports Department Manager/ Business Development Officer in preparation of technical offers in conformance with Customers’ requirements and projects specifications.
- Communicate with customers regarding mobilization and project execution and reporting.
- Provide technical consultations/ professional advice to the customers.
- Write periodical reports and brochures and participate in preparation of EIA reports.
- Ensures the implementation of the requirements of ACES Quality management system in day to day operations.
- Ensure ACES environmental, health and safety policies are implemented effectively and assure healthy working environment.
- Ensure that all ACES employees use appropriate protective tools.
- Provide technical backup and training to the environmental technicians and chemists. Supports the Department Manager in the authorization of technicians and chemists to perform accredited tests/activities.
- Participate in equipment selection and recommendation for purchase.
- Meeting with customers and suppliers.
- Any duties or responsibilities assigned by the management.
Reporting To:
This position will directly report to the Environmental Department Manager/ Section Head.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering or any related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in the field of Environmental Engineering/ Environmental monitoring and consultancy.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Strong foundation in chemistry, water resources, environmental engineering, and impact assessment
- Understanding of geology, soil mechanics, and civil engineering principles
- Proficient in laboratory and field monitoring techniques, equipment operation, and chemical analysis procedures
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring equipment calibration and maintenance
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA, GSO, QCC2014, etc.)
- Awareness of ISO 17025 and ACES Quality and HSE Management Systems
- Skilled in technical reading and writing in English
- Proficient in GIS applications, LIMS, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong data analysis and scientific calculation skills
