About the Role
We are seeking a Content Director based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to lead the creative and production strategy of innovative sports and entertainment projects across the MENA region. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive the full content lifecycle — from concept through execution — while ensuring alignment with global brand standards and regional audience expectations. You will collaborate closely with local and regional teams to deliver high-impact content tailored to diverse markets in the Middle East and North Africa.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of program production — from pre-production to post-production — including planning, casting, set design, directing, and editing.
- Collaborate with local and regional teams to develop content that aligns with brand identity and connects with audiences across MENA.
- Lead cross-functional production teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.
- Define and communicate the creative vision for content, ensuring storytelling, design, and tone are culturally relevant and consistent with brand values.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources strategically to ensure efficient production and high-quality output across multiple markets.
- Supervise script development, contributing to the writing process and editing to maintain consistent tone, narrative structure, and regional relevance.
- Hire and manage key production staff, including directors, writers, actors, editors, and crew across MENA projects.
- Proactively identify and resolve production challenges, balancing creative ambition with logistical and technical realities.
- Monitor audience feedback, content performance, and viewership analytics across MENA to inform ongoing content strategy and direction.
- Collaborate with content leads in other global markets to maintain cross-regional consistency and share insights and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in producing premium television or digital content, ideally in entertainment, reality TV, or live sports/events.
- Degree in Media, Film, Journalism, Communication, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in content creation and production, with a track record of leading successful projects in diverse cultural markets.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing large creative and technical teams.
- Deep understanding of all stages of production and the ability to translate a creative vision into compelling screen content.
- Strong narrative skills with the ability to write, review, and refine scripts that resonate with varied audiences across MENA.
- Ability to manage large-scale budgets and allocate resources strategically across countries and markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with teams, talent, and stakeholders across regions.
- Deep cultural awareness and familiarity with viewer preferences across Middle Eastern and North African audiences.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on live production and event schedules.
- Experience with cross-border content production is a strong advantage.
