Job Description
About the Role:
The Cluster Director Government Relations & Protocol will lead the strategic management of all government relations and protocol activities across the hotel cluster. As the senior liaison between the cluster and government authorities, you will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering and strengthening vital partnerships with governmental bodies. Your role will also encompass overseeing protocol arrangements for VIP visits, official events, and corporate engagements, ensuring the cluster maintains a distinguished reputation. This position requires a Saudi national with a deep understanding of local government, culture, and protocol etiquette, supporting the cluster’s leadership in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the cluster’s government relations strategy, aligning with corporate objectives.
Act as the senior point of contact and representative for all government and regulatory affairs.
Build, maintain, and enhance strategic relationships with key government officials, departments, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure full compliance with local laws, regulations, licensing, and hospitality sector policies.
Oversee coordination of government inspections, audits, reporting, and approvals.
Manage all protocol-related activities including VIP visits, official ceremonies, and government delegations.
Provide strategic advice and regular updates to cluster leadership on government policies, regulatory changes, and protocol matters.
Lead government-related negotiations, ensuring the cluster’s interests are effectively represented and safeguarded.
Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to maintain adherence to government standards and enhance operational efficiency.
Supervise visa processing, labor law compliance, and related administrative functions.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports, official communications, and presentations for government and protocol purposes.
Represent the cluster at government forums, industry associations, and public events, projecting a positive and professional image.
Collaborate with legal, compliance, and corporate communications teams to manage risks and uphold corporate governance.
Mentor and guide the government relations and protocol teams, fostering professional growth and excellence.
Qualifications
Saudi national with extensive knowledge of Saudi government structures, regulations, and hospitality protocols.
Minimum 8 years of senior-level experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or protocol management, preferably within hospitality or a related sector.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing government relations and protocol teams.
Exceptional networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with government officials and stakeholders.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
High level of professionalism, discretion, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.
Proven track record in managing complex government compliance and protocol activities effectively.
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and administrative capabilities.
