Job Description
Initiate, share and discuss strategic issues for sales & distribution in order to contribute to the development of the S&D strategy.
Execute the set targets for the depot’s sales force and monitor, guide and motivate Area Sales Managers,(Senior) Sales Supervisors, Merchandising Supervisors and/or Team Blue Leadersin their performance to effectively manage and control the van sales operation and to realize the sales targets. (The number and type of staff to manage differs per depot.)
Ensure identification, initiation and organization of sales to new clients, channels and markets in the depot’s region, in line with the S&D strategy, in order to increase sales and distribution. Said differently, constantly developing the depot.
New depots: Develop the roadmap for entry into new markets ensuring prices are aligned with the relevant functions.
Ensure implementation of agreements with Key Accounts (national and regional), and negotiate LTA’s/promotional activities for regional Key Accountsin cooperation with Trade Marketing and actively build and strengthen good business relations with the representatives ofKey Accounts in the depot’s region.
Should adhere to company’s approved Returns Policy and works with Supply Chain to define and activate procedures so that abuse of the system is minimized and ultimately eliminated. Is personally responsible for returns to the depot and their genuineness, as per policy.
Translate sales plans and activities into sales forecasts for the depot in co-operation with Trade Marketing and ensure correct and on time reporting of sales figures.
Ensure execution excellence of merchandising at the points of sales in line with the policies and approaches as defined by Trade Marketing and Marketing in order to influence the shopper’s choice in favor of SADAFCO products.
Implement and monitor the approved company payment and credit policies and ensure credit and collection management for all sales in the depot’s region ensuring timely payments. Trigger any unforeseen events or early signs of customer’s financial distress to SADAFCO head office.
Ensure and monitor quality control of sales processes and practices and use of MSFA in line with company standards and regulations.
Ensure management and control of the depot’slogistic operations to realize the planning and delivery of the required volumes of finished productsin line with the distribution policies and according to functional guidelinesof Supply Chain Management.
If applicable, ensure management of the maintenance and repair activities for cars, refrigeration and forklifts at the depot and for depots in the region according to functional guidelines from Supply Chain Management in order to ensure maximum availability of the vehicles at lowest cost.
Overall responsible for management of the depot assuring it is maintained and managed as per policy and procedures, having the right number of qualified people in place for the all functions and by doing so assuring a professional operating depot which is efficient, clean, safe, and representing the SADAFCO values and standards.
Ensure wastage control is exercised at the depot as per policies and procedures and is maintained within company budget/target levels across product groups.
Ensure both depot and information security in line with company security policies.
Ensure an effective depot organization, required number and quality of people, and people management in line with SADAFCO’s HR policies, in order to enable the realization of the S&D targets.
Ensure,in cooperation with Finance, that the financial and administrative systems, records and controls are established and maintained for effective administration for the depot and that budgeting and financial monitoring and reporting are done according to SADAFCO’s financial policies.
Skills
- Educational level: University, minimum BA degree, Master’s degree preferred
- Specific diploma/education: Business, Commerce, Marketing or Finance
- Minimal 8 years relevant experience (of which 3-5 years in a line management position); a proven track record in direct van sales operations
- Channel experience:
- modern trade (Key Accounts) for the larger depots
- traditional trade (retail) for the smaller and larger depots
- Languages:
- English: speech: fluent, writing: fluent, reading: fluent
- Arabic: preferred at minimal proficient level
- Age: 35 – 45 (limited family obligations)
