Develop, deliver and communicate visual concepts and strategies that promote the Home Centre brand, products and services in stores, in windows, in catalogues or online. Collaborate closely with key departments to create annual visual strategies and promotional events in order to generate sales, increase brand awareness and to maintain and grow target consumer markets.
Lead a team of Visual Merchandisers to create the visual merchandising standards and guidelines for all categories
Coach and develop Visual Merchandisers to ensure high quality performance and build talent strength within the VM Concept office
Liaising with teams such as buying product development, retail and marketing to create design themes and plans that include windows, department displays, signage and pricing concepts
Ensure all widows are displayed in line with specified marketing calendar/campaigns and comply with window guidelines. Ensure these are presented to a high standard, including window stickers, graphics and props
Negotiate with suppliers of visual materials and props to meet budget targets
Work with fixtures and architectural space in the store to maximize space for product assortments
Using artistic skills or computer aided design such as Sketch up or Adobe Creative Suite to create visual displays and product display plans.
Create visual merchandising packs to communicate visual guidelines including layout principles, visual displays, styling and signage
Comparison shopping to maintain awareness of other retailer’ visual merchandising concepts
Lead and motivate teams to complete work to tight deadlines through strategic and organized planning
Seek feedback from colleagues and customers on the visual impact of displays and implementing changes when required to support the needs of the business
Identify specific market issues and develop solutions that have the potential to impact earnings to drive sales and margins
Identify and develop training opportunities to address merchandise presentation skill gaps
4 – 6 years of experience in a Visual Merchandising role for a retail brand that includes leading a team of 3-5 people. Post Graduate or Diploma in Visual Merchandising, Merchandising, Fashion, Design etc.
