About this opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned Area Sales Director to drive revenue growth, lead sales strategy, and develop new business opportunities. This role will oversee sales execution across all channels, manage cross-functional projects, and lead a high-performing team while contributing to long-term departmental and organizational strategies. This role reports to Area Managing Director. The role covers 6 countries and has 7 direct reports with overall team size of 40+.

The Area Sales Director leads people for whom they have employee lifecycle responsibilities including hire/development decisions, coaching/mentoring, coordination of tasks, appraising performance, pay reviews, and developing for future assignments. The management responsibilities are in addition to job specific accountabilities for objectives such as setting direction and developing business & operational areas, developing policies & practices, and implementing business plans. The planning horizon can vary from short to long term dependent on the career stage and goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. Progression within this stream reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Management:
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle, ensuring forecast accuracy and consistent pipeline growth.
Manage multiple sales channels and ensure operational excellence in sales execution.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate new sales and marketing growth opportunities.
Leadership & People Management:
Lead and develop a team of professionals with full responsibility for the employee lifecycle, including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and succession planning.
Set direction and establish performance expectations across teams.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Translate business goals into actionable sales and business development plans.
Contribute to the development of function-level strategies and policies.
Drive cross-functional initiatives and lead complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Organizational Development:
Mentor and coach leaders to strengthen organizational capabilities.
Build bench strength through talent development and structured career progression.
Ensure alignment between business strategies and team performance.
Qualifications:
Experience in sales, business development, or commercial management.
Proven experience leading high-performing teams in a matrix or multi-geography environment.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic business plans.
Strong stakeholder management and project leadership skills.
